Some background information

Pale Purple's founders are David and Katherine Goodwin. David Goodwin is a Software Architect with a background including Systems Administration and Development and Design. He is experienced in many aspects of Linux Systems (particularly web server) administration, and has programmed in PHP, Java (J2EE), Python (PyQT, PyGTK), Perl and Bash. David is LPI Level 1 and 2 Certified, a Zend Certified Engineer and has a degree in Software Engineering (BEng) (2:1). Katherine Goodwin is an experienced programmer and trainer. She has undertaken various projects in PHP and Python, with Java development earlier in her career. Her main development focus is Database driven applications. She is experienced in teaching and training at various levels (school, university and adult training) and is normally responsible for day-to-day running of the office. Katherine has a First Class Degree in Computer Science. As a small company, Pale Purple aims to focus on a personal service to customers. Where the nature of the project requires it, selected external development partners may be used to provide additional skills - such as graphic design of sites. Since 2006, Pale Purple expanded to include two full time employees - Paul and Sam. Paul is undertaking an Industrial year placement from The University of Wales, Aberystwyth and has excellent knowledge of Javascript, CSS and XHTML. He has recently become a Zend Certified Engineer. Sam is a permanent employee and enjoys Python, PHP and Assembly (and buying "classic" consoles from GameStation!). Towards the end of 2007, Paul will return to Aberystwyth to finish his degree, and will be "replaced" with Adrian (another Industrial placement student) with a similar skill set. |
