Description
This day long course introduces you to database design and implementation (using either MySQL or PostgreSQL). It then moves on to show you how you can talk to a database using PHP, covering the various PHP options available (e.g. PDO, PEAR::MDB2, Zend_Db and PHP's native functions) and provides suggestions for which is best for which situation.
The course consists of one main exercise which allows delegates to insert, retrieve and update data within a database using a skeleton of a provided web application.

- Examples of the various APIs for PHP
- Doing it yourself...(supervised, guided exercise)
