Lloydfraser : Transport Tracking Application - Live

Working in association with Lloydfraser and RETP, PalePurple has developed a bespoke transport tracking web application

Lloydfraser and RETP approached Pale Purple in February 2006, with a requirement for a transport tracking application that could be used to track returned produce.

Initially it was thought that customisation of an existing Open Source ticket tracking application could be undertaken in order to fullfill the requirements. After investigation it appeared that modifying the existing application would not be cost effective, or provide the appropriate functionality.

With a combination of regular meetings, we iterated through a number of prototypes to reach the final design.

The application has the following features :

• Visual notifications (traffic light system) for late, overdue and on time deliveries.
  
• Inbuilt email notifications when requests become overdue.
• Real time in-window alerts on the web browser to notify the user of changes to their requests
• Administration interface (add/edit/remove users)
• History tracking of changes for audit purposes
  
• A number of different roles for application usage (e.g. planner, subcontractor and administrator)
