Glasgows Event Management System - Live
Working in association with Glasgows (one of the largest in-house suppliers of conference & event services), PalePurple has developed a bespoke event management system, the first major version of which has been deployed and is now in active use
Glasgows approached Pale Purple in June 2006, with detailed requirements for a bespoke PHP web applicaton to replace an existing desktop application.
By moving to a web based application they are now able to provide online delegate registration, as well as 'on the day' registration with minimal paperwork and overhead.
The new system provides internal users with administrative abilities (event creation, delegate registration, user administration) and powerful reporting cababilities (data querying and exporting to external formats). Since December 2006, the system has been running live, and is already in use for a number of events.
The application is based on PHP5, a MySQL relational database and a number of PHP libraries (including Smarty and Propel).
